Nicosia, Cyprus, 11 April 2024 - In response to the rapidly changing dynamics within the Cyprus Investment Fund Sector, the European Institute of Management and Finance (EIMF), in collaboration with the United Kingdom’s Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI), proudly introduces the Cyprus Fund Administration Professional Assessment Certificate. This pioneering certification is designed to provide professionals with the critical knowledge and skills required to navigate the complexities of the ever-evolving fund administration landscape.

EIMF’s CEO, Marios Siathas, left, said: “For the last nine years, EIMF has worked closely with the Cyprus Investment Funds Association (CIFA) and local investment funds firms to improve and further develop the training and certification opportunities for professionals in this booming industry. Alongside our accrediting partner CISI, we’re thrilled to have finally launched a benchmark certification—one that we can all be proud of—for the local investment funds market.”

The Cyprus Fund Administration Professional Assessment Certificate is designed to equip professionals with practical and relevant knowledge specific to the Cyprus Investment Fund Sector. It has been carefully developed for professionals who are actively involved or interested in entering the fields of Fund Administration, asset management, and investment funds, as well as those working in legal and auditing advisory positions.

The programme covers an extensive array of topics, including the creation of fund structures, the key roles and responsibilities within a fund, the relationship between Net Asset Value (NAV) and fund performance, and the analysis of different fund types and structures. Additionally, it comprehensively addresses legislative and regulatory frameworks impacting the funds sector, offering a complete overview of the investment fund lifecycle from inception to termination.

CISI’s Executive Director and Chartered FCSI, Kevin Moore, remarked: “This is a great example of the CISI collaborating and working with our strategy partner EIMF to support the needs of the local market. We have a strong and committed membership community in Cyprus led by our National Advisory Council President, Charles Charalambous Chartered FCSI, and hope that this course will give more exposure to CISI to see how we can support them throughout their career. CISI is a proud supporter and sponsor of CIFA events, and we are excited to see our partnership flourish.”

Starting this Spring, the EIMF will offer two training programmes to prepare professionals to attain this certification with the first one commencing in May and the second one in June of this year. This programme is precisely designed to nurture the development of professional skills and knowledge that meet the industry's current demands, thereby preparing candidates for the assessment.

The assessment entails a 75-minute session, encompassing 50 Multiple Choice Questions, with a requisite pass mark of 70%. Candidates are afforded two attempts for completion. This assessment can be undertaken either online through the CISI professional assessment platform or in-person at the EIMF's computer testing centre.

The Cyprus Fund Administration Professional Assessment Certificate marks the beginning of a new chapter in professional development and accreditation for professionals aspiring to excel in the realm of fund administration services.

Andreas Athinodorou, right, who serves as CEO for ATG Fund Services and is the Chairman of the Fund Administration Committee and a Board Member of CIFA, said: “EIMF, in close partnership with CISI, embraced our vision of turning Cyprus into a Fund Services hub and committed the right level of expertise for developing this program. I congratulate them for their efforts and thank them for the opportunity to offer them our professional experience and expertise in making this a reality. This CISI accreditation is a solid proof for this remarkable work and an example to be followed by other professional training institutions. I invite fund administration companies to consider this course as part of their core training for their professional staff.”
