It illustrates practical defences, includes the Bribery Act (2010) and focuses on how laws, regulations and best practice continue to evolve across the entire spectrum of associated activities. It covers the background and nature of financial crime, money laundering, terrorist financing, and corruption; combating financial crime, bribery and the role of the private sector.

Please note: We have recently reviewed the structure of our Combating Finance Crime qualification and elements of the syllabus to ensure it has an increased global focus and an emphasis on the practitioner response to financial crime. It is designed to complement a new unit Managing Cyber Security. The two units will be available as standalone awards, and in partnership as the Level 3 Certificate in the Prevention of Financial and Cyber Crime.

Combating Financial Crime can also be combined with a regulatory exam to achieve the CISI Level 3 Certificate in Combating Financial Crime. It can also be taken as part of the Investment Operations Certificate. Combating Financial Crime, combined with a regulatory paper, is recognised by Ofqual as the level 3 Certificate in Combating Financial Crime. Success in this qualification carries with it 16 RQF credits.
