Magical night at the Birmingham annual dinner 2017

Magician Zamaan Ismail kept an audience of over 60 captivated at the event, held on 15 June 2017 at Hotel La Tour, Birmingham

Guests at the event contributed over £1,400, excluding gift aid, in aid of SIFA Fireside, which operates the main day centre facilities in Birmingham for homeless and vulnerably housed adults. Guests also participated in a gift aid envelope draw at the end of the night, with the winner walking off with a bottle of champagne.

Branch president Andrew Porter, Chartered FCSI said: "The dinner allowed us to support and spread awareness of the great work SIFA Fireside do with the growing problem of homelessness in the city. Overall I was pleased that so many of the issues and causes the branch and the CISI supports could be included in the evening, and I'm grateful for all who attended."

Some of the top table guests were: chair of West Midlands branch of the Chartered Institute of Taxation, Stephanie Churchill; president of the Birmingham Law Society, Andrew Beedham; associate dean at Aston University, Colin Chapman, Chartered FCSI; fundraising & corporate manager, SIFA Fireside, Melissa Roche; chair, Birmingham & West Midlands branch of the STEP Peter Gosling; and the CISI assistant director of global business development, Richard Bennett.

The sponsors for this event were M&G Investments and Fidelity International, without whom it would not have been possible. If you would like to support future dinners, please contact nikki.macmillan@cisi.org.
