Financial Planning Gala Awards 2017

The CISI’s Financial Planning Gala Awards were held on Tuesday 26 September 2017 as part of the Financial Planning Conference at the Celtic Manor Resort in Wales. Attendees donated £6,871.60 to the charity Breast Cancer Now. Congratulations to all the winners!

The awards were held in recognition of the outstanding achievement of individuals and firms across the UK financial planning professions.

Penny Haslam, former BBC journalist, was the host for the evening.

Recognising Excellence – Accredited Financial Planning FirmTM of the Year: Magenta Financial Planning
The award (main picture) recognises the firm which has made the strongest impact on the financial planning profession over the preceding 12 months.
Highly commended: Broadway Financial Planning
CFPTM Professional of the Year: Warren Shute CFPTM Chartered FCSI, Lexington Wealth Management
The award goes to the UK-based CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM professional who can demonstrate the best combination of strong technical knowledge along with outstanding financial planning and communication skills.
Highly commended: Francis Klonowski CFP™ Chartered FCSI, Klonowski & Co

Paraplanner of the Year: Kirsty Stone ACSI, Dart Capital
The award takes account of the very broad range of skill levels and abilities paraplanners have, and ensures that all entrants have a good chance of success whatever their level of experience or knowledge.

The Tony Sellon Memorial Prize ‘Good Egg’ Award: Keri Carter CFPTM Chartered MCSI
Tony Sellon was a founder member and previous president of the IFP. He is remembered for being a real ‘good egg’. The award goes to the individual judged to have contributed the most to the financial planning profession, their team/firm, or CISI branch, over the year.


Building Excellence – David Norton Award: Ashlea Financial Planning
The award goes to the financial planning firm which could benefit from expert mentoring and business support to help them make that final step up to the levels needed to become an Accredited Financial Planning Firm™.

Jacqueline Lockie CFPTM Chartered FCSI, CISI deputy head of financial planning, said: “We are delighted to congratulate all of our winners who have clearly shown that they are at the top of their game in the increasingly global world of financial planning.
