A winning evening at the CISI Scotland branch annual dinner and awards night 2018

Top performing exam achievers were recognised at the event, held on 13 September 2018 at The Principal Edinburgh

Our guest speaker for the evening was Kate Adie OBE DL, journalist and former chief news correspondent for the BBC, who recounted how she became a news reporter, and shared some of her experiences reporting from active war zones.

But the real stars of the evening were the 12 top performing exam achievers, who received awards in 12 categories. See full list below.

Over 160 guests contributed £1,146 in aid of Winning Scotland Foundation, a charity with the goal of empowering young people to achieve their personal best in life through creation of a culture that instils resilience, self-belief, determination, and raises attainment and confidence.

The other top table guests were: Maggie Lindsay, Chartered FCSI, Scotland branch president; Laura Drysdale, director, Meraki Talent; Graham Nicoll, managing director of Midlands, North & West, Barclays; Graeme Brock, Chartered FCSI, partner, Smith & Williamson; Simon Culhane, Chartered FCSI, CISI chief executive; Russell Crichton, Chartered FCSI, chief executive, Speirs & Jeffrey; Rupert Haddon, head of UK sales, First Trust Global Portfolios; Colin Anderson ACSI, CISI client relationship manager; Amandeep Sahota, lecturer, accounting & finance, Strathclyde University; Richard Orr, senior development manager, Winning Scotland Foundation; Tracy Bissett, chair, Chartered Insurance Institute, The Insurance and Actuarial Society of Glasgow; Raymond Wales, chief executive, Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce; Liz McAreavey, chief executive, Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce; Tony Foster, chair, CFA UK; and Sanjukta Brahma, senior lecturer in Finance, Glasgow Caledonian University.
