The CISI launches its National Advisory Committee in Mauritius

Expanding further in the African region, the CISI has established CISI Mauritius as its National Advisory Committee

The CISI launched its National Advisory Committee (NAC) in Mauritius on Monday 29 February, with chief guest Alderman Lord Mountevans Jeffrey Evans, Lord Mayor of the City of London, in attendance.

Also in attendance was the British High Commissioner to Mauritius, Mr Jonathan Drew; CISI Country Head Sri Lanka, Brian Selvanayagam, Chartered MCSI; members of the Lord Mayor’s delegation, along with representatives of British financial institutions, corporate supporters, senior practitioners of the financial services industry and members and local students of the CISI.

The Lord Mayor said: “I am thrilled to be launching the new CISI National Advisory Committee. The CISI is helping drive up standards within financial services in Mauritius and it is important that there are enough people qualified to provide sound advice.”

President of CISI NAC Mauritius Mr Neeraj Umanee said: “We are extremely pleased to be exploring training and qualification opportunities in Mauritius. As a leading professional body, we believe that an effective combination of knowledge, skills and behavior will undoubtedly contribute to the improvement in professional financial services in Mauritius.”

Neeraj expressed confidence that the new NAC, together with its corporate supporters and training partners, would be providing a wealth of opportunities for the region’s youth, for its current CISI members and for seasoned financial services professionals. 

The CISI’s Accredited Training Partner in Mauritius is Belstar Training Centre, which delivers a range of CISI study courses, including Wealth & Investment Management, Corporate Finance, Combating Financial Crime, Global Securities Operations, and Risk in Financial Services.
