Parkinson’s UK benefits from the CISI East Midlands & Lincoln annual dinner

Reverend Richard Coles, a musician, journalist and Church of England Priest, was guest speaker at the dinner, which raised £1,046.50 for Parkinson’s UK

The CISI’s recent East Midlands & Lincoln annual dinner took place in a Grade II listed building, Devonshire Place, in Leicester.

Rev. Coles addressed 75 guests at the black-tie event with an after-dinner speech titled ‘From popstar to pulpit’. He is known for having been the multi-instrumentalist who partnered with Jimmy Somerville in the 1980s band The Communards, which achieved three Top Ten hits. He also appears frequently on BBC Radio 4 and television shows.

Other top table guests included Jonathan Wernick, Chartered MCSI, CISI East Midlands & Lincoln Branch President; Terry McCarthy, Chartered MCSI, CISI Client Relationship Manager; and Ramilla Patel, England Manager - East at Parkinson's UK.

Jonathan said: “Thursday 21 April marked another successful evening for CISI East Midlands & Lincoln region at its annual dinner. Attendance was excellent, with a top celebrity speaker in Reverend Richard Coles and over £1,000 raised for Parkinson’s UK. I am genuinely very proud and grateful to all those who worked so hard to make this evening such a success.”

The CISI has over 400 East Midlands and Lincoln members. Its objective is to help members attain, maintain and develop their knowledge and skills and to promote the highest standards of ethics and integrity in the wealth management, financial planning and capital markets industry.

Apart from raising a generous sum for Parkinson’s UK, the dinner was also an opportunity to congratulate 70 CISI East Midlands & Lincoln branch members for achieving Chartered Member, Chartered Fellow and Chartered Wealth Manager status between 1 February 2015 and 25 February 2016.

Sponsors for the event were: M&G Investments; BlackRock; UBS; Henderson Global Investors; Royal London.
