Military flavour for CISI's premier social event

Former British Army officer Colonel Tim Collins OBE, best known for his stirring eve of battle speech during the second Iraq war, was guest speaker at the CISI’s London Annual Dinner

More than 230 CISI members, industry leaders and practitioners attended the dinner, the Institute’s premier social event of the year, at the Mansion House in the City of London.

The function was presided over by CISI Chairman Alan Yarrow, Chartered FCSI(Hon), Lord Mayor of London.

At the event he presented the CISI Outstanding Compliance Professional Award to Alex Lander, Chartered FCSI.

A collection among guests raised more than £3,000 for the Lord Mayor’s Appeal 2014/15 and the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal. Funds raised by the Lord Mayor’s Appeal will support two main beneficiaries, Scope, which works to improve opportunities for disabled people, and Mencap, the UK’s leading learning disability charity. The remainder will be divided between the Royal Ballet School, the City & Guilds of London Art School and the Royal Academy of Arts.
