CISI link up in Cyprus hailed a success

A partnership between the CISI and the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) has been praised by the British Acting High Commissioner on the island

Lynda Burns hosted a cocktail reception to celebrate the link up and to congratulate the highest scorers in new regulatory certification exams.

In her address she said: “Both the UK and Cyprus have developed strong financial sectors and they benefit from their growth. The two countries share common practices and standards and have professionals who strive for high quality and integrity in the services they offer.

"The collaboration between the CISI and CySec is a clear example of the continued effort to promote training and achieve high quality and standards of the services offered. The UK always supports such initiatives which enhance business growth and prosperity but also professional values and ethics."

Demetra Kalogerou, Chairwoman of CySEC, referred to the new innovative framework of certification and its multiple benefits. She said: “CySec continues to work towards higher business and professional standards within the financial services sector of Cyprus.”

Kevin Moore, Chartered MCSI, CISI Global Business Development Director, explained the overall aims of CISI, the scope of its activities and its aspiration for expanding its activities in Cyprus in collaboration with organisations such as CySEC.

Cyprus government officials and members of the financial services and business sectors attended the event.
