Richard has spent his career in the UK’s national security community, with the last six years in cyber security. He was previously Assistant Director for Cyber Security in the UK Government’s Department for Culture, Media & Sport, where his focus is on delivering key initiatives within the UK’s Cyber Security Strategy, including the development and adoption of a range of cyber security standards, and specifically the Cyber Essentials Scheme. Marcus Brookes

Marcus graduated from the University of Stirling with a Masters degree in Investment Analysis and has built up over a decade’s investment experience. He started with Friends Ivory & Sime as a Portfolio Management Assistant working on global equity and bond desks. In 1999 he went on to work alongside Bambos Hambi in running fund of funds and the two stayed as a partnership, firstly moving on to Rothschild, then joining Gartmore at the end of 2003. He then left to join Cazenove (now part of Schroders) at the beginning of 2008, where he now takes charge of the multi-manager fund range alongside Robin McDonald.

Guy Browning started work as a copywriter at DMB&B and he went on to become Creative Director of the global marketing agency Added Value. He is now Managing Director of Smokehouse, a specialist agency providing facilitators and hosts for interactive events and conferences. He is also Chief Executive of Standard Life Savings which provides propositions and platforms to intermediaries in the retail savings sector. He was previously Chief Executive of ING subsidiary Williams de Broë, an institutional trading and private client business, and prior to that Chief Executive of Lloyds TSB Private Banking and Lloyds TSB Stockbrokers.

He is a Chartered Fellow of the CISI and a member of the CISI Ethics and Integrity Committee. Richard is also a member of the Worshipful Company of International Bankers and the Cornhill Club and is past Chairman of the Old Salopian Club and a trustee of the Shrewsbury School Foundation.

She was Group Finance Director at DG Gardner Group, a training organisation, prior to joining Thorn EMI in 1993 as Group Treasurer until 2000. In 2001 she was appointed Director of the Institute of Business Ethics. Philippa was awarded an OBE in the New Year Honours 2006 for services to the Ministry of Defence and in July 2008 was awarded the BITC Marks & Spencer Sieff Award. Charlotte Hawkins
Presenter, Good Morning Britain

Charlotte is one of the presenters of ITV’s Good Morning Britain having previously co-hosted Sky News’s Sunrise alongside Eamonn Holmes. As a young reporter with LBC radio, she was confronted, early on, with the grim reality of news gathering when she was one of the first journalists to arrive at the Paddington rail crash. Charlotte moved to Meridian Television where she co-presented the current affairs series The Big Story. She went on to co-anchor Meridian Tonight. Alongside her duties on ITV and Sky breakfast shows, Charlotte has also anchored Five News and appeared as a guest news reviewer.

Marlene’s first career was as a Probation Officer for 13 years. In 1989, she became a financial adviser and eventually a Certified Financial Planner, Fellow of the IFP (now CISI), Chartered Financial Planner, Associate of STEP and Fellow of CMI. In 1991 she established a financial planning practice and sold it in 2007. She has continued as a financial planner and as a coach/mentor to other advisers. She was a board member of the IFP for 12 years, and was IFP president between 2010 and 2012. Richard is currently a Non-Executive Director of First State Investments and Duncan Lawrie Private Bank. He previously worked for Fidelity Investments from 1983-2008. Steve Webb
Former Minister of State for Pensions - Director, Policy and External Communications, Royal London

Steve was Minister of State for Pensions between 2010 and 2015, the longest-serving holder of the post. During that time, he implemented major reforms to the state pension system, oversaw the successful introduction of automatic enrolment and played a key role in the new pension freedoms implemented in April 2015. Steve was a Liberal Democrat MP from 1997 to 2015. Before this he was professor of social policy at Bath University for two years, having previously worked for nine years as an economist at the Institute for Fiscal Studies. Steve graduated with a first class honours degree in PPE from Oxford University in 1986.

Charles joined Bloomsbury in 2013 having previously spent 18 years in financial planning. He is a Chartered Financial Planner and a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society. As a Wealth Planning Manager, he coordinates the financial affairs for a number of our client families and assists them in achieving their lifestyle goals.
