Roger Whitney, CFP®, is a cofounder of WWK Wealth Advisors and host of the award-winning podcast The Retirement Answer Man. He has been a financial planner for over 27 years. Each day he “walks life” with individuals and families, helping them plan for, transition into, and live out their retirement. His recent book is called, Rock Retirement: A Simple Guide to Help You Take Control and Be More Optimistic About the Future.
Jamie Susskind is an author, speaker, and practising barrister. A past Fellow of Harvard University’s Berkman Klein Center for Internet and Society, he studied history and politics at Magdalen College, Oxford, graduating first in his year before turning to the law. He is the author of Future Politics: Living Together in a World Transformed by Tech (Oxford University Press, 2018), an Evening Standard Book of the Year, a Prospect Book of the Year, and a Guardian Book of the Day. Future Politics was recently awarded the Estoril Global Issues Distinguished Book Prize. Jamie speaks globally about the future of power, freedom, justice, and democracy. His work has featured in the New York Times, Wired, the Telegraph, Fast Company, the New Statesman, and elsewhere.
Annabel has spent almost 40 years helping growing businesses sort out the practical and legal side of paying people and has been a guest expert on both tv and radio talking about GDPR and all things gig-economy. She founded KoffeeKlatch in 2009 specifically to support organisations outsourcing to freelancers. She has spent the last few years helping business get real REAL value from the people they pay and filling the gaps that most entrepreneurs leave wide open for trouble.
Rebecca Aston (nee Doodson) is Head of Professional Standards at the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI). She oversees the delivery of the Institute’s Integrity initiatives to members, supporter firms, and external stakeholders, with an aim to raise and uphold ethical standards in the financial services industry. Her areas of particular interest include Speak Up (whistleblowing), diversity and inclusion, behaviour and culture. Previously, Rebecca worked at the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) as Senior Conduct and Compliance Officer (2009-2014), with a focus on ethics and professional standards. Rebecca is a graduate of the University of York (BA Hons, History, 2008) and the University of the Arts London (PG Dip, Conservation, 2010). Additionally, in 2016 she completed a Masters degree in Applied and Professional Ethics from the University of Leeds, and achieved a Pass with Merit. In her spare time Rebecca is a tutor, on behalf of the University of Leeds, on the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries Professional Skills course.
Tish is a barrister and was called to the Bar at Grays Inn. She is the Founder and joint Chair of SOLLA which she developed from an initial concept to a national organisation with strong brand recognition in the later life sector She is a founder member and Head of Business Development for Solicitors for the Elderly (SFE) and Vice Chair of the Kent branch of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (S.T.E.P). Tish also works in the areas of policy development, legal and financial training and advice delivery. She has worked with the Department of Health, and a variety of third sector and private organisations and acts as consultants to a wide range of clients in developing and supporting good practice in relation to older and vulnerable clients. Tish was part of the Department of Health working party which helped to draft aspects of the Care Act 2014. In January 2015 Tish worked with the Department of Health to deliver Best Practice Guidance on Financial information and Advice to support the Statutory Guidance for Local Authorities under the Care Act 2014. In 2017 Tish was a member of the vulnerability Working Group at the FCA and the ABI. Tish is a highly regarded specialist on the legal and financial issues of Later Life Advice . and a nationally well regarded speaker on the conference circuit on all later life matters. She regularly contributes articles on later life to both industry and consumer publications as well as speaking on these matters on radio and TV. She is joint Editor of the Later Life Handbook and the author of Age Concern’s book 'Equity Release Made Easy'
Philippa is a Partner in the Financial Services team at Clarke Willmott LLP solicitors. She has particular expertise in litigation both for and against financial advisers. She has taken on the likes of Equitable Life, Barclays, Ernst & Young, UBS and many more. She is currently instructed by a number of the Port Talbot British Steel workers who were transferred out of their DB pension schemes by Active Wealth (UK) Ltd (in liquidation).

Erin and the Senior & At-Risk Investor team work to protect senior and at-risk clients by proactively educating and counselling advisers to best serve the needs of this vulnerable population, interfacing with the regulators and assisting in protecting client assets against exploitation. Erin received her B.S. from Cornell University and law degree from Tulane Law, cum laude, with a specialisation in European Legal Studies. She has her Series 7, 9 and 10 licenses, is a FINRA Arbitrator and a member of SIFMA’s Senior Investor Working Group and FINRA’s Complaint Initiative Committee.
Clare qualified as a lawyer and Notary Public in September 2002 and is a member of the Law Society of Scotland. Post qualification Clare spent 5 years at Aegon Scottish Equitable in the legal department focussing on protection products before moving to Pinsent Masons LLP in November 2007. While at Pinsent Masons, Clare acted for many different pension providers there before moving to Prudential for over 6 years and ended up leading the pensions side of the external facing technical team which involved presenting, writing articles for the press and developing adviser facing content. Clare joined Royal London in May 2018.
Technically a Paraplanner but Sapna is better known for her work on developing the Chesterton House back office systems and new client on-boarding procedures which have gained substantial time cost savings for the business. Over the years, Sapna has been in many roles and worked with almost every process in the business. This experience along with her aptitude for technology and problem solving has made Sapna the ideal person to tackle the procedural difficulties affecting every area of the business.
Rory Percival was ‘the face of the FCA’ to advisory firms for many years. He worked at the regulator for 10 years and was involved with many high profile projects such as risk profiling, centralised investment propositions, the RDR, research and due diligence, and the assessing suitability review as well as speaking regularly at conferences. Prior to joining the regulator Rory worked in the advisory sector for 20 years mainly in compliance and training roles. He has Chartered Financial Planner status. In November 2016 he launched his own firm – Rory Percival Training and Consultancy Ltd to help support professionalism in the advisory sector.
Brian Portnoy, Ph.D., CFA, is the author of two books -- The Investor's Paradox and The Geometry of Wealth -- which simplify the complex world of money. The Geometry of Wealth was recognized by the the 2019 Axiom Business Book Awards as the top investing and personal finance book of the year. For the past two decades, Brian has worked throughout the hedge fund and mutual fund industries. He is currently the Head of Education at Magnetar Capital, a Chicago-based investment firm, where he creates educational content related to better decision making. In that role, he is also helps to steer the University of Chicago Financial Education Initiative, which provides a comprehensive financial literacy curriculum for high school students. Brian holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and a doctorate from the University of Chicago.
Quintin has worked for actuarial and investment consultancy firms as well as a multi-national European bank for nearly ten years. Projects have included substantial and innovative development of quantitative fund selection and analysis techniques, risk-monitoring and portfolio optimisation, including in-house training for analysts and relationship managers. In addition, Quintin is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments, a Chartered Wealth Manager and holds a Physics degree from Imperial College London and a Physics doctorate in atmospheric physics from Oxford University. Quintin has applied his knowledge and experience in computational and analytical analysis from nuclear and aerospace engineering to areas in finance. He has also completed the Sustainable Investment Professional Certification (SIPC) with the John Molson Business School, becoming this programme’s first graduate in the Channel Islands and the second in the UK. In January 2017, Quintin joined P1 Investment Management Ltd, founding their ethical and sustainable investing proposition.
Amyr Rocha-Lima, MSc CFP™ is a partner at Holland Hahn & Wills LLP, a financial planning practice based in Kingston Upon Thames. Amyr has worked in financial services for the past 12 years looking after private clients, businesses and trusts. He specialises in retirement planning for senior professionals across London and the South East.
Martin Ruskin is Chair of the CISI Financial Planning Forum and Head of Business Development at Paradigm Norton. He has been guiding clients through the advice maze for over 25 years, having experienced a ‘light bulb’ moment of what planning can achieve when undertaking his CFP™ certification in 2007. Martin is a strong believer that true financial planning can be the difference between a life fully lived and missing out on one and that a significant part of a planner’s role is one of reassuring, directing and stopping clients from making (in the words of Carl Richards) dumb decisions.
Prof. Deen Sanders OAM is the Ethics and Professionalism leader for the Deloitte Governance, Regulation and Conduct group. Before joining Deloitte he was the inaugural CEO of FASEA, developing the blueprint for the professional standards and ethics regime in financial advice. Prior to that he was the head of Australia’s Professional Standards Authority, responsible for the oversight of Australia's regulated professional communities (Law, Accounting, Engineering etc..). As well as CEO roles in corporate and government regulatory environments, he was the Chief Professional Officer at the FPA and in that time led the global standards development process for financial planning. He is recognised as a global expert in the field of professions, regulation, ethics and law, and has been a key policy adviser and negotiator for law reform in the financial services and professional regulatory environments. He has a Doctorate in the field of Professions and Consumer trust and was awarded an Order of Australia Medal in 2017 for services to these fields. He is an Adjunct Professor with Deakin University in the field of financial advice and ethics. He is also the Professorial Fellow with the Kaplan Applied Research Institute.
David Swanwick is Dimensional’s Head of Client Services for the EMEA region and a Vice President in the firm’s London office. David works with clients across the region and globally to aid the delivery of consistent and successful experiences to their clients. He helps firms achieve their potential through analysis and application of proven practice management and client communication techniques. In addition, David leads teams responsible for delivering all of Dimensional’s EMEA conferences and events as well as the annual strategic benchmarking study, investor survey and study group programmes for financial advisers. Prior to joining Dimensional, David was a private client adviser with SFG Australia, a leading wealth management business servicing high-net-worth families and organisations. Originally from a banking background, David was later appointed a director of a highly regarded boutique financial planning firm in Brisbane called Ellwood Barry McPherson, which later became a founding member of SFG Australia. He moved to London in 2011 to join Dimensional. David holds a bachelor of business from Queensland University of Technology and the diploma of financial planning from Deakin University and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors diploma course. David has chaired industry committees and participated in numerous projects and panels regarding advice, investments, communication and practice management. He has also been invited to speak internationally by universities and external groups.

Known as ‘Mr. Avalanche’, Henry Schniewind is a leading speaker and provider of avalanche safety information and training. He also provides insight for people and teams in varied professions: on decision-making, risk and crisis management techniques. His work provides innovative ways to reduce the errors that lead to avoidable accidents. Henry is a certified ‘off-piste’ ski guide who has combined winter sports and adventure with degrees in geology and French literature from Boston University and Montana State University; as well as a Master in International Business from Grenoble (France) Graduate School of Business.
