Well we are now in the final throws of preparation before the annual financial planning conference at Celtic Manor. You may be fed up of me updating you but we now have over 300 delegates with another 50 speakers and exhibitors in addition.

Well we are now in the final throes of preparation before the annual financial planning conference at Celtic Manor.  You may be fed up with me updating you but we now have over 300 delegates with another 50 speakers and exhibitors in addition.

In preparation I have a few reminders for you:

‘Good Egg’ award – you will recall I emailed you all in the bulletin two weeks ago asking for your nominations.  If you are still pondering whether to nominate someone, please do so before it closes to nominations on 23 Sept.  This award, along with others, will be given out during the gala dinner at the conference on 4 October.

Booking your sessions – if you haven’t already booked your sessions for the conference, please login via the link in your confirmation email and click on ‘Manage your booking’.

The conference app will be up and running again with competitions to enter as well as voting for your favourite innovative exhibition stand and educational exhibition stand.  The app will also show you which sessions you’ve booked in to and what’s up next.

Forum committee members –  the voting for the IFP Financial Planning Forum committee is now closed.  We have had record numbers of votes and results of the forum vote will be detailed shortly – so watch this space.  Once the committee is finalised they will vote in their chairman and then Alan Dick will formally hand over the chairmanship of the forum at the conference.

Branches –  there are lots of annual dinners going on at the moment.  These dinners may be new to IFP members but are the highlight in the branch calendar.  If you can pop along to one, then I urge you to do so and get to know some new people.

Review Magazine feedback  –  Hopefully by now you have seen the survey for the Review Magazine.  We’d love to hear your views.  Don’t be shy, please complete the feedback survey and we will put your points to the Financial Planning editorial panel.  This panel, made up of planners, agree the financial planning content for the magazine. Did you also know that it is available online too and that there are other articles being posted regularly online to supplement the quarterly magazine?  Pop along to MyCISI and see them there.
