COVID – 19 statement

By Lora Benson | Mar 19, 2020

We would like to reassure our candidates and wider stakeholders that we are following government and medical and health advice and working closely with our testing partner, Prometric, to ensure the safety of our exam candidates while supporting individuals’ and firms’ need to maintain business as usual as far as possible.

At the current time our test centres in all countries, other than those listed here, are still open. Our testing partners have confirmed that they have enhanced their cleaning and hygiene measures in test centres to help protect the health of candidates. We are seeking to ensure that every effort is made to minimise any risk.

As the pandemic continues to escalate, we have decided to actively develop a number of alternative options to help candidates and firms through this difficult period. We are exploring options for remote invigilation for our computer-based exams and have taken the difficult decision to delay all our June narrative exam sittings to September 2020. All affected candidates will be contacted directly and our members have already heard from us earlier this week. We have also announced that we are waiving transfer fees for any candidate with an existing exam booking who wants to transfer their exam to an alternative date – they can now do so free of charge. Candidates should contact us directly at customer.support@cisi.org.

Although we will have to postpone, cancel or change some of our event programme, we will contact you directly if you have booked spaces on something that is changing. We are proactively working with our firms and regular speakers around the world to continue to offer alternative continuing professional development options – more details will follow shortly on our email and social media channels.

Fortunately, we have a large library of online learning that our members can access, with over 180 e-learning modules on our Professional Refresher platform, over 300 CISI TV videos, including 150 that have been recorded within the past 12 months, hundreds of articles on The Review digital platform and some new podcasts too. We also have a number of other channels for you to access relevant and topical content, including interviews and features on our CISI YouTube channel.

We also encourage the financial services community to access our recently launched mental health portal for further tips on looking after your wellbeing.
