Tips From The Coalface, February 2018

If you’re still striving for the success you believe is possible for you, then you might have felt some frustration at times. You might even be feeling it right now.

I recently read the line I’ve used as the title of this article - “You are your habits”.

I don’t know why it resonated so much, but it did.

It got me thinking:

• What habits do I have that are keeping me stuck at my current level of performance?
• What habits would allow me to move to the next level of performance?
• What habits will I need to acquire to achieve elite level performance?

Most of us set goals for the outputs that we are chasing; for example, the financial targets in our businesses.

What if we set goals around the inputs, or habits, that will deliver the outputs we’re seeking?

This year I’m focusing harder on the habits that I know have worked for me in the past. I’ve  also added some new habits too, that I believe are essential to get me where I want to go.

None of this involves working more hours, or working harder. I have the same number of hours in the day as you do, or in fact as anyone else on the planet does.

Why do some people achieve so much more?

It’s all about your habits.
