2015 £2,500 Hoare Nairne Scholarship awarded

The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) is delighted to announce that Ross Crake of Charlwood Leigh has been awarded the 2015 Hoare Nairne Scholarship.
 
Hoare Nairne Scholarship Winner 2015The Scholarship of £2,500 is used to defray study costs towards CISI’s premier qualification, the Chartered Wealth Manager Qualification (formerly the CISI Masters in Wealth Management) and is awarded by the CISI Educational Trust, from an original donation by The Golden Bottle Trust.

The Chartered Wealth Manager Qualification comprises three units: Financial Markets, Portfolio Construction Theory, and Applied Wealth Management, normally taken over 18 months, with sittings in June and December.

Scholarship candidates were asked to submit an essay on “What is the difference, if it exists, between investing and gambling? Which category does derivative trading and spread betting fall into?"

On receiving the Scholarship, Ross, who has completed the Financial Markets paper and is sitting Portfolio Construction Theory this month, said: “I am delighted to be awarded the Hoare Nairne scholarship which is of significant financial help. I look forward to continuing my study towards this important qualification.”
