Plenty of food for thought at the CISI Northern Ireland branch annual dinner

Guest speaker Professor Neil Gibson, director at the Ulster University Economic Policy Centre, generated plenty of discussion with an irreverent take on economics and politics

Guests at the event, held on Thursday 2 February 2017 at Belfast Waterfront Hall, contributed around £800 towards the charity Leukaemia & Lymphoma Northern Ireland, excluding gift aid.

Northern Ireland branch president Christopher Taggart, Chartered FCSI, said: “This was an opportunity for members to enjoy an evening of excellent food and entertainment in an iconic venue.

"The dinner was well attended with about 90 members and their guests. It was a great success, thanks in no small part to the organisational efforts of the local Committee.”

Also present at the event was the CISI Global Director of IT & Operations, John Preston. He brought everyone up to speed on the current CISI activities and priorities for the future.

Some of the top table guests at this event were: Chairman of the Young Directors' Forum, Institute of Directors, Neal Lucas; Senior Lecturer in Financial Services Business Development at Ulster Business School, University of Ulster, Michael Pogue; CISI Senior Client Relationship Manager and Chris Morris ACSI; Chair of the ACCA Ulster Members'  Network Clodagh Hegarty.

The sponsors for this event were BlackRock, M&G Investments and Quilter Cheviot, without whom it would not have been possible. If you would like to support future dinners, please contact nikki.macmillan@cisi.org.
