The CISI in Oman

omanIn December 2008, the CISI signed an agreement with the Oman Capital Market Authority (CMA) to enhance the qualifications structure for those working in the Oman financial services market.

The agreement was signed by His Excellency Maqbool Ali Sultan, Omani Minister of Commerce and Industry, and Scott Dobbie FCSI(Hon), former CISI Chairman. Read more.

oman siningThe CISI and the Muscat Securities Market (MSM) are now working together to implement the qualifications led licensing regime – the programme gives candidates globally recognised qualifications and also a local regulatory component. 

The first step in the licensing requirement is the CISI’s International Introduction to Investment, available in both Arabic and English. Full details of the requirement and how to register

The MSM will, upon qualification, mandate continuing professional development (CPD) to practitioners. Through CISI membership, individuals get the opportunity to stay up to date via online, interactive e-learning as well as published material.  Practitioners will record their activities through the CISI’s innovative CPD scheme.  More information on CISI membership.

Accredited Training Providers

The CISI is working with the College of Banking and Financial Studies (CBFS) and other training providers to deliver appropriate training programmes for these qualifications.

Training for CISI's examinations is available through its network of accredited training providers (ATPs)

Test Centre

There are two test centres in Oman including an accredited test centre at the CBFS where block bookings can be accomodated.
