(CISI Level 4 Diploma in Investment Advice)

The Investment Advice Diploma (IAD) has been developed to provide employees advising and/or dealing in Securities or Derivatives, advising on Packaged Products and/or Managing Investments with the knowledge and skills required for their job roles.

The IAD is the CISI’s qualification specifically developed to comply with the new examination standards of the RDR. It appears on the FCA’s Appropriate Qualification tables and is a Diploma to reflect the amount of learning required.

This Diploma is regulated by Ofqual as a level 4 qualification. On the European Qualifications Framework, this equates to a level 5 qualification.

Exemptions

The CISI offers exemption from ONE IAD PAPER ONLY to holders of the following qualifications.

CII Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning

Exemption from UK Regulation and Professional Integrity if you hold RO1 or

Exemption from Investment Risk and Taxation if you hold RO2 and RO3 or

Exemption from Private Client Advice unit of the IAD if you hold RO4,5 & 6

If you hold several relevant CII units you may choose between the exemptions that are available. Exemption from more than one IAD unit is not available.

CFA UK Level 4 Investment Management Certificate

Exemption from UK Regulation and Professional Integrity if you hold IMC Unit 1

Exemption from Investment Risk and Taxation if you hold IMC Unit 2

If you hold the full IMC, you may choose between exemption from UK Regulation and Professional Integrity or exemption from Investment Risk and Taxation. Exemption from more than one IAD unit is not available.

Ifs Level 4 Diploma for Financial Advisers

Exemption from UK Regulation and Professional Integrity if you hold ifs Financial Services, Regulation and Ethics

Exemption from Investment Risk and Taxation or UK Regulation and Professional Integrity if you hold the full Level 4 Diploma for Financial Advisers (post 1 August 2010 only)

SQA/Calibrand Level 4 Diploma in Professional Financial Advice

Exemption from UK Regulation and Professional Integrity if you hold Unit 1, Financial Services, Regulation & Ethics

Exemption from Investment, Risk and Taxation if you hold Units 2 and 3 (Personal Taxation / Investment Principles and Risk)
