The CISI in Asia
The Institute has developed a strong presence in Asia in recent years, with offices in the key financial centres of Mumbai, Singapore as well as Colombo.
India – the Institute’s biggest operation outside the UK – has seen particularly strong growth in the asset servicing arena, driven by the presence of major global clients across the country. It has also developed good working relationships with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and with a number of major professional and trade associations.
Singapore has seen a boom in its asset servicing business, reflecting the surge in Asian liquidity and the shift of much investment administration business from Europe. The CISI has helped serve this growth, aided by cooperation from the regulator, which provides significant funding for successful examination candidates.
